Position Summary

Produce the weekly and daily production and packaging schedules that will satisfy product needs of our customers, within established standards, optimizing plant operations and labor, and inventory turns.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
•    Develop weekly forecast to meet customer needs, optimize plant operations, and drive employee work schedules.    
•    Determine specific order of manufacture for all production and packaging personnel to follow in order to maximize efficiencies (Machinery, labor, raw materials, etc.) and meet customer demands.
•    Maintain an understanding of all manufacturing variations to include availability of time, equipment, and manpower.
•    Judge product restrictions, methods, technologies, and procedures necessary to develop an achievable schedule.
•    Schedule daily production of both coffee mate and culinary production and packaging lines. 
•    Produce accurate daily schedules based upon the weekly forecast and the daily activities that are to be performed. 
•    Assist in the annual creation and implementation of the Master Production Schedule, a major factor in determining the capacity of the facility, as well as labor and equipment needs for the upcoming year.
•    Respond quickly and adjust the weekly and/or daily schedules to fulfill customer needs based on analysis or information concerning new orders, raw material availability or future requirements.
•    Actively tour the plant facility with operations personnel and industrial engineering to give input on 
•    Optimizing labor efficiencies, product flow, time and motion, employee scheduling and throughput in terms of increasing productions.
•    Maintain close communication with:
Procurement- to assure accurate weekly forecast needs, and to determine the availability of raw materials as new orders are submitted.
Production, Packaging, and Stores Personnel- to coordinate daily and weekly schedule issues.
Product Commercialization- for scale- ups, new product introduction, equipment capacities and procedures.
Production Planning Administrator - to be aware of new developments and directions concerning production planning
Shipping/Distribution – to provide information regarding when product will be available for shipment and to be
Provided with accurate physical counts of inventory as needed.
Technical Services – for quality assurance and R&D needs.
Maintenance and Engineering – to arrange for machinery downtime for preventative maintenance or repairs and new machinery start-up.
Customer Service and Sales - to arrange proper ship dates and availability of finished goods for sample or sale.
 

REQUIREMEMENTS: 
Degree or years of equivalent experience.

EXPERIENCE
•    3 -5 years working knowledge of manufacturing floor.   
•    Previous production planning experience, preferred.
