Position Summary
This position is based in Columbus, OH, Cleveland, OH, or Cincinnati, OH

At Purina, our Veterinary Communications Managers are passionate educators, relationship builders, and scientific ambassadors who engage with veterinarians, veterinary students, faculty, and industry leaders across the country.
The Veterinary Communications Manager (VCM) will provide direct technical support and expertise for VET sales and university to drive increased trial, usage, and recommendations of Purina products by veterinarians, veterinary students and veterinary staff and promote an elevation of Purina's image in the veterinary profession. This will occur on a regional level where they will maintain their relationships and align with PVCs and Region Managers. Additionally, this role promotes technical and scientific competency among veterinary sales personnel.
- Educate new and existing Purina associates on nutrition and related veterinary medicine topics
- Provide technical expertise, education, and act as Veterinary representative to Purina departments both internally and externally (cross-functionally and within universities)
- Execute educational events for veterinarians and veterinary hospital staff that support sales and marketing goals for increased trial, usage and recommendation of Purina products and programs
- Develop and build ongoing expertise through targeted Key Opinion Leader and veterinary group relationships, continuing education, and self-study (ex. AAHA, corporate accounts, AAVN, ACVIM, etc…)
- Manage programs that optimize visibility of Purina throughout assigned veterinary schools
- Promote and monitor trial Purina products by students, faculty, and teaching hospital
- Develop and maintain relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in the veterinary community that will drive Purina’s image in the veterinary profession.
- Execute the rollout and ensure communications consistency of Purina initiatives at universities (ex. Purple Leash Program, Vet Support Mission)
Requirements:
- Doctor of Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
- 1+ years’ in a small animal private practice or an internship
- Must possess and maintain a current, active, unrestricted U.S. veterinary license in good standing
Other
- 3+ years’ experience in private practice or similar industry is preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills is preferred
- Willingness to travel 50-75% as business needs require

Salary: $121,043.16 to $167,262.90 per year

The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
