Key Account Manager – Amazon: Up to 12 mths fixed term contract
Location: Gatwick – Hybrid working: approx. 2 days per week in our office
Salary: £38k - £42k dependent upon experience + potential bonus + 12 flexible days in addition to holiday entitlement + other fantastic benefits

We have a great opportunity based at our Gatwick site, to join our Purina Sales team on a 12 month secondment / fixed term contract as Key Account Manager on our Amazon account.  You will be responsible for the leadership and delivery of a profitable and market share winning plan by supporting the execution of the Amazon Joint Business Plans with the customer and working with the Business Manager, the Pan European team, Amazon, Marketing and MDO to deliver a highly effective Commercial Plan that will support our Amazon Business Objectives.

 

A day in the life of a Key Account Manager ... 
As a Key Account Manager, you will be working closely with the Business Manager to ensure the company’s profit and volume objectives are successfully met whilst implementing the promotional, feature and media plan. 


Key responsibilities will include:

  • Lead customer engagement within Commercial Review Cycle, in particular roadshows, WOR weekly operational review, CR & TDS reviews linked to Spend, Market Share, Digital Shelf Metrics, Promotional Evaluation and Performance vs. targets
  • Joint responsibility with Amazon Business Manager for management and accountability of the customer P&L, including Revenue, Spend, Market Share, Digital Shelf Metrics and Profit targets. 
  • Work with Amazon Business Manager to Understand Customer CIP and ongoing negotiations
  • Work with Amazon Centre of Scale team and Pan EU colleagues to optimise eContent, rapidly resolving availability and content challenges to deliver best in class E-content, range and merchandising. 
  • Alongside Category and Activation teams, ensure all NPD successfully launched into customers and deliver best in class E-content, range and merchandising
  • Lead the integrated discretionary media plan to include online merchandising, events and deals including Media effectiveness post mortems
  • Develop, execute and manage a Customer Contact Strategy with Amazon Fresh, building relationships across all functions at varying levels
  • Coordinate Amazon catalogue accuracy to optimise Product Listings, accuracy of products on site and cost price management to avoid Pricing Claims and Shortage Claim impact

 

What will make you successful? 
As influencing skills are important for being successful in this role, you will be able to communicate persuasively and credibly to multiple stakeholders internally as well to customers externally. You will need to demonstrate gravitas and a proactive, entrepreneurial innovative mind-set.  Strong organisational skills are essential to manage numerous priorities in a fast-paced environment and being comfortable operating with ambiguity.

 

Ideally, you will have worked with in a FMCG organisation or have experience working with online customers. Being able to demonstrate experience and your passion for e-Commerce is a significant advantage.

 

Other key skills include:

  • Challenger mindset – not afraid to challenge where and when needed, navigating complexity and providing clarity to stakeholders with clear recommendations
  • Experience of structured effective selling and negotiations would be beneficial
  • P&L knowledge and management
  • Knowledge of E-commerce and online range and merchandising, Organic/paid search, content management and E-commerce Analytics
  • Experience of managing trade spend budgets
  • Forecasting experience, Customer Marketing and Category experience would be beneficial
