Internal Communications Specialist 

Location – Gatwick (Hybrid Working) with travel to sites.

Position Summary  

We are currently recruiting for a fantastic opportunity to join our Nestlé Waters & Premium Beverages business as an Internal Communications Specialist. This role will be based primarily in our Gatwick office, reporting directly into the Head of Corporate Affairs and Sustainability.

The role of Internal Communications Specialist is to support the Nestlé Waters & Premium Beverages business (UK) in the delivery of our regular programme of internal communications that: engages employees with our purpose, story and priorities; supports our people priorities; positively influences organisational reputation with employees to help build trust and pride.

A day in the life of an Internal Communications Specialist

 

As the Internal Communications Specialist, you will advocate a positive employee experience where colleagues feel informed, connected and inspired by the company and the work they do. 

 

Your role is to:

 

  • Support the delivery of our programme of internal communications and events to drive employee engagement across our locations (Waters' Operations sites, office and field sales) for Waters employees.            
  • Create, manage and deliver content and stories through our primary internal communications channels as well as supporting factory briefings and face to face activity, ensuring messages are accurate, clear and aligned with business needs.
  • Collaborate with relevant teams to develop communications plans and content for both internal and external audiences and channels recognising our people engage with both external and internal news and information.             
  • Champion storytelling that reflects and embeds our Waters' purpose and story, enhances our culture to make sure Nestlé Waters is a great place to work.        
  • Represent Waters UK in global Waters and NiM Communications planning and delivery sessions and manages and maintains the Waters Internal Communications plan.   
  • Partners with and represents needs of HR and Factories in internal communications planning and delivery.                                           
  • Support the Waters Donation process, liaising with the cross functional team to provide effective service internally and to the external recipients.
  • Measure and track the progress being made, to help bring the work we are doing to life through our brands for our audiences.                              

 

 

What will make you successful? 

           

The successful candidate will bring with them solid experience in Internal Communications within a fast-paced matrix organisation, and it goes without saying you will have exceptional communication skills with lots of energy and passion for delivery 

 

You will have had experience of supporting innovation in communications, collaborating with others using a variety of channels to communicate with different audiences.  

 

You will be driven and enthusiastic and keep up to date with communication best practices and new developments and innovation.  

 

We expect you to have: 

  • Strong communication skills, including verbal, written, and presentation abilities.
  • Ability to understand complex information and write clear and concise content for various channels.
  • Experience with WorkPlace/Viva Engage, SharePoint, and Poppulo (desirable but not essential).
  • Ability to build networks with key stakeholders.
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills, complemented by emotional intelligence.
  • A pragmatic, 'can do' attitude toward delivery.
  • Experience in internal communications management, content creation, and delivery across different audiences.
  • Good understanding of engagement principles.
  • Comfortable providing internal communications guidance to peers and stakeholders.
  • Experience in crafting and executing storytelling and business messages.
  • Experience in the food and drinks industry is desirable but not essential.
