We are recruiting for a Physical Logistics Manager to lead our Logistics team, ensuring efficient and effective management of third-party logistics providers and associated partners. Reporting directly into the Nespresso UK&I Supply Chain Manager, the role is critical in guaranteeing the premium execution of our operations, maintaining high standards and seamless coordination throughout the logistics process.

Your impact

Ultimately, you will be responsible for leading the physical logistics team, a team of 5, you will ensure efficient and effective management of third-party logistics providers (3PLs) and all associated partners, guaranteeing they meet our performance standards. 

 

Your other key responsibilities will include:

•    Streamlining logistics processes to enhance efficiency and reduce costs. 
•    Implementing best practices and leveraging technology for continuous improvement.
•    Maintaining high health and safety standards within logistics operations to ensure a safe working environment and compliance with legal requirements. 
•    Ensuring that orders are picked, packed, and shipped accurately and on time.
•    Effective warehouse management involving optimising space utilisation, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring smooth inbound and outbound operations.
•    Leading the physical logistics team with a focus on professional development and high performance. 
•    Implementing sustainable practices within logistics operations, reducing the environmental impact and supporting corporate social responsibility goals. 
•    Managing the budget efficiently ensuring that financial resources are allocated appropriately to support logistics operations.

You’ll have the confidence and ability to effectively communicate and influence people at all levels both internally and externally. Your self-motivation and drive will help you succeed when solving problems in what can often be a complex and demanding environment. This coupled with your proactive nature and the drive for continuous improvement will be key.


The successful candidate will also:

•    Proven experience in developing and managing a team of direct reports.
•    Demonstrable relevant operational experience in Supply Chain, Operations and Logistics. 
•    Experience working with the distribution of Ecommerce goods is preferred. 
•    Have experience with operational management of third-party providers/suppliers. Confident with contract management. 
•    Have previous experience of being involved in audit management in a Logistics environment.
•    Have experience of Health & Safety management in a Logistics environment.
•    Have successfully been involved in projects and initiatives that require a Commercial, Supply Chain and IT understanding and knowledge.
•    You will be able to demonstrate high level knowledge of Excel and ideally PowerBI.
