Position Summary

The Production Utility Worker Level 5 positions are a vital piece of the Processing/Packaging/Ingredient Prep & Receiving/VPAC, and Distribution Departments of the Nestle Purina Crete Factory. Utility Workers Level 5 will meet all Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental requirements when performing job duties. The primary responsibilities in these roles are to ensure that production operations are met in a safe and efficient manner, provide quality products to various departments with minimum wastes, and provide relief to operators for breaks and vacation. Additionally, the Level 5 Utility Worker will assist and at times, assume the Team Lead Role when needed. These roles exist on all three shifts in the various Departments. Overtime on all shifts and weekends is required.

Starting pay - $24.47 / hour

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 3+ years’ experience working in a production capacity such as a manufacturing, agriculture, warehouse, industrial, military, related environment or a 4-year degree.
  •  
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • 1+ year experience in using computer for data input, reporting, recording data and saving files.
  • 1+ year experience driving a forklift.
  •  
  • Basic Physical Requirements to be performed with or without an accommodation:
  • Must be able to lift 57 lbs.
  • Ability to engage in physical activities and manual labor, as required, including but not limited to: prolonged standing, walking, lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, climb ladders, etc.
  • Must be able to work in varying temperatures and climates, including high temperatures.
  • Must be able to work varying shifts on weekends and/or holidays (days, afternoons, and midnights)
  • Must have legible handwriting, good eyesight, color and depth perception, reading, mechanical and basic math skills.
  • Must have focused attention to troubleshoot problems, monitor equipment, analyze data, multi-task with expected interruptions.
