Position Summary
We have a fabulous opportunity for someone to join our Supply Chain team in Dalston, Cumbria, this is a rare chance to really broaden your SupplyChain skills and take on a role that has two elements of responsibility. 50% of the role you will spend your time as an Inbound Supply Coordinator and the other 50% will be spent as an Operational Project Manager driving improvement activities across our suppliers and supporting our export markets through project delivery.
Our Dalston Factory is the home of Nescafe and produces a range of Cappuccino, Aero and Coffee mate products. These are produced through a highly automated PLC controlled process plant and automated filling and packing lines. It is continually developing our recipes and expanding our leading brands.

A day in the life of a Inbound Supply Coordinator & Operational Project Manager
Reporting to the Factory Supply Lead, you will be responsible for supporting the ordering of inbound materials and making sure we have the correct materials, in the correct quantities, to ensure the factory can produce to support production demands.
You will also drive continuous improvements in the Material Resource Planning processes of the supply stream. On the project management side, you will be leading projects for our export markets, acting as a SPOC. From leading timeline preparation including risks and opportunities along the flow to ensuring goods have the correct documentation. You will also support the I2L Project Managers to roll out I&R initiatives globally.
Building relationships is key, as you will follow up delivery shortfalls and quality issues with suppliers agreeing plans to minimise impact on customer service level. You will also monitor supplier performance ensuring plans are developed with the supplier, procurement business support and the supply stream to close gaps as necessary.
Main responsibilities include:
• Support, create and optimise the replenishment plan for raw and packaging materials over an 18month horizon to ensure supply of material to production whilst meeting working capital targets and stock cover policies.
• Manage/Monitor new materials from Approval into first production for all projects with the PMO & Export Lead.
• Manage exceptions with suppliers.
• Follow up delivery shortfalls and quality issue with suppliers agreeing plans to minimise impact on customer service levels or working capital.
• Monitor supplier performance ensuring plans are developed with the supplier, procurement business support and the supply stream to close gaps as necessary.
• Work with suppliers, procurement business support and the supply stream to identify and exploit improvement opportunities to drive TDC, service improvements or working capital reductions.
• Involve suppliers in in supply stream improvement exercises which will create shared value for Nestle and their suppliers.
• Driving connectivity between planning processes, procurement and factory assets and teams.
• Manage the roll out of Innovation and Renovation projects globally following lead market launch
• Support export markets to deliver changes ranging from simple artwork changes, sourcing changes, sustainability or regulatory initiatives to new introductions of products in the receivers.
What will make you successful
You will have some awareness of business and ideally demonstrate supply chain planning knowledge. Previous experience in supply chain role and understanding of inventory methodologies would be beneficial but we are also open to speaking to those who may have worked in a factory operational role and looking to broaden their experience within the Supply Chain function.
Other key skills required are:
• Effective communication skills, with the ability and be able to build relationships and influence internal and external stakeholders
• Previous experience managing stock control and MRP experience would be advantageous.
• SAP and master data maintenance experience is desirable.
• Experience working on and leading continuous improvement projects would be a distinct advantage.
• Ability to manage your own time and prioritise workload effectively.
• Results focused with an eye for detail
• Able to use initiative and challenge the status quo.
• Microsoft Word and Excel skills
