Located in North America’s wind belt, Davenport is at the forefront of renewable energy technology and has remained home to our largest manufacturing facility since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ‘90’s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Kitten Chow®, Friskies® and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Ensure accident rate and workers’ compensation objectives are met.
- Maintain and develop safety awareness programs.
- Coordinate investigations of injuries, near misses and property damage incidents.
- Direct, evaluate, and ensure that Purina required safety audits are implemented and completed.
- Provide training materials to all departments to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Basic Qualifications:
- Completed Bachelor’s Degree in related field.
- 3+ years of safety experience in a manufacturing environment. Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills.
- 2+ years of leadership experience within a manufacturing, industrial, military, or related environment.
Preferred:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Safety & Health or Business Degree with a focus on Safety and Health Administration
