Position Summary

Over 100 years in existence, we’ve grown our passionate Purina Family as we’ve grown the breadth of our business. As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll join our factory in Davenport, Iowa which is home to our largest manufacturing facility since 1927. Originally producing cereal, the factory became a pet food-only manufacturer in the late ‘90’s and as the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S., it carefully produces, packages and ships several varieties of our Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Kitten Chow®, Friskies® and Kit N Kaboodle® brands.
As a Maintenance Technician, you will handle all mechanical maintenance tasks whether routine, critical or preventative. You will be looking for continuous improvement ideas to improve safety, reliability, and quality within the factory. You will also be working alongside engineers on factory upgrades as needed.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Maintain, upgrade, troubleshoot and repair all plant mechanical equipment which may include piping, electrical and controls
- Have working knowledge of motors, conveyors, and palletizers
- Perform Arc, Tig, and Mig welding procedures on both plate and pipe. Be able to weld different material thicknesses
- Complete any other assigned maintenance duties as directed
- Continue training as necessary to keep current with technology
Basic Qualifications:
- HS Diploma or GED
- 1+ years of related maintenance experience in a manufacturing, industrial, technical, military environment, OR a two-year technical degree
- MUST BE OPEN TO ALL SHIFTS
