Position Summary

 

Located in North America's wind belt, Davenport proudly stands at the forefront of renewable electricity technology. Our factory works to do our part to care for the environment, like investing in renewable electricity, conserving water and maintaining zero waste for disposal. Since 1927, it has been home to one of our largest manufacturing facilities. Originally focused on cereal production, the factory transitioned to become a pet food-only manufacturer in the late '90s. Today, it holds the distinction of being the largest pet food manufacturing facility in the U.S. With utmost care, our dedicated team in Davenport produces, packages, and ships a wide range of our beloved brands including Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Alpo®, Beneful®, Purina ONE®, Cat Chow®, Friskies®, and Kit N Kaboodle®.

 

As a Materials Planning Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for managing assigned commodities to ensure 100% availability to meet production schedules. Help us ensure operational excellence as you administer materials payable accurately and according to contract terms. Work collaboratively across to departments to make an impact on processes, and join us in enhancing the lives of pets and pet owners nationwide.

 

  • Facilitate reports showing current inventory (on hand + expected) and compare inventory status to the updated production schedule to determine commodity ordering requirements.
  • Place delivery orders against approved corporate contracts using SAP, always engaging professionally with supplier and/or NPPC hired carriers to schedule just-in-time delivery to support the production schedule.  
  • Dispatch communication of new purchase orders to vendors and coordinate delivery appointments with carriers.
  • Continuously monitor/follow-up on expected shipments to ensure on-time delivery.  
  • Expedite or modify deliveries (as needed) to support changes in the production schedule/commodity inventory position. 
  • Work closely with all Procurement levels with regard to contracts and needs of the plant to support production.
  • Organize daily rail report using Ravens rail reporting including calculating new and available cars, distribution to appropriate personnel, and updating Track sheet with daily demurrage.


Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
  • 1+ years' experience performing administrative or secretarial duties in manufacturing, logistics, supply chain, military or related environment

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $42,810 to $65,400. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
