Position Summary

 

As Production Planning Manager, you will champion short-range and long-range plant production planning and inventory management. Utilizing forecasting data in conjunction with economic production quantity and safety stock methodologies, you will proactively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that finished product is available for distribution to meet customer demand. You will manage a team of coordinators and specialists to produce efficient and cost-effective schedules that maintain warehouse inventories within acceptable levels. In this critical role, you will align with production and maintenance to schedule downtime to minimize impact on continuous operations and factory output.

 

  • Analyze, monitor and plan production effectively incorporating inventory levels, production quantities, logistics, safety stock, forecasting data and scheduled maintenance
  • Prepare finite production schedule to the SKU level of detail by shift, day and week, balancing processing volumes to packing volumes by product type within the existing capability of the plant
  • Enter the weekly master production plan (MPP), including recipe and campaign details, into the enterprise resource planning software, SAP, and adjust as needed per day
  • Participate in weekly maintenance planning meetings and daily operating review meetings to align on the production schedule, planned downtime and customer service considerations
  • Manage the coordination of all packing supplies and promotional activities
  • Factor in the impact of lead time, transportation and supply chain constraints on key performance measures such as fill rate levels
  • Analyze production data and make strategic decisions to optimize factory operations
  • Monitor and track post-consumer recycled material for timeliness, accuracy and compliance
  • Coach and develop the factory operations team

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related discipline
  • 5+ years of leadership experience within supply chain planning, logistics planning or production planning in a manufacturing, warehouse, military or related environment

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $91,000 to $130,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
