Position Summary
This position supports the Nestlé Quality Assurance Center of Dublin, OH (NQAC Dublin) mission of providing specialized laboratory services to ensure that Nestlé products are safe, satisfy all applicable regulatory requirements and meet the quality expectations of our customers and consumers. The Chemist may undertake advanced analytical work with a minimum of preliminary instruction; modify methods for nonroutine problems; assist with method development; coordinate the work of a small group within the section as necessary.
• Posses advanced instrumentation skills - troubleshooting, preventive maintenance
• Represent NQAC at internal and external meetings as directed.
• Independent Participation in Customer Calls/Technical Support
• Modify methods to resolve problems requiring knowledge of theory and underlying principles of the analysis.
• Make recommendations for new equipment and methodology.
• Supports method implementation- basic
• Supports method expansion - basic
• Evaluate current methods and recommend modifications to laboratory personnel and management as new procedures become available
• Creates training protocol (success criteria) for approval
• Maintain awareness of current publications relating to work area and conduct literature searches as required.
• Perform plant visits and audits as trained
Requirements
• BS in Related Science: >5 years experience in food science laboratory or closely related laboratory environment.
• MS in Related Science: 2-5 years experience in food science laboratory or closely related laboratory environment
• PhD in Related Science: 0-2 years experience in food science laboratory or closely related laboratory environment
• Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office Applications: Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)
• Good verbal and written business communication skills
• English Language Skills (Basic reading, writing, speaking, etc.)
• Ability to priortize and manage time
• Excellent detail orientation.
• Demonstrated project management skills
• Demonstrated problem solving capability
• Demonstrated technical competence
