Location: Dublin: Hybrid working: approx. 2-3 days per week in our Dublin office

Position Summary

As part of our exciting sales transformation strategy, we are expanding our Nestlé Ireland Sales team and are delighted to be recruiting for this newly created National Account Manager Nutrition, Food (Wholesale & Convenience) position based at our head office in Dublin, Ireland.

 

As National Account Manager, you will also have Category Management responsibilities and will play a key role within the Nestlé Ireland Sales and Nutrition Category Team where you will be responsible for the leadership and delivery of a profitable market share winning plan driven by the development and negotiation of Joint Business Plans with our Wholesale & Convenience Customers.

A day in the life of a National Account Manager  ….

You will be responsible for the full management and accountability of the customer/category/format P&L, including Sales Revenue, Trade Spend, Promotional ROI, Market Share and Profit targets. You will also be responsible for market category insights reporting (internally and externally); promotional effectiveness reviews and tracking; and supporting our Commercial Development Team (CDT) with customer category reviews.

 

Your key responsibilities will include:

 

  • Developing and leading the negotiation of the annual Customer Business Plans which deliver against internal and external strategies & KPI
  • Analysing of data sets (EPOS, Nielson, CIM, SRM) to build commercial plans which optimise KPI delivery
  • The timely and accurate execution of Customer Plans, providing excellent communication to Customers, completing all required internal and external documentation and alignment to ensure perfect execution of customer plans
  • Lead Customer Contact Strategy and build powerful relationships cross functionally at appropriate levels
  • Deploy customer, shopper and category insight to identify optimum portfolio mix for the customer and shopper. Lead cross functional teams to deliver portfolio range for customer
  • Lead customer negotiations with full alignment on variables and deliverables with CDT
  • Own and develop promotional plan to include revenue, trade spend & promotion activation details including, timing, mechanics & estimated amount sold on deal (uplift &/or total)
  • The timely participation and input into all relevant internal planning processes(weekly, monthly and quarterly) / Monthly Business Planning (MBP). Utilise multiple data sets to create guidance to build understanding of external performance dynamics
  • The timely delivery of monthly and/or weekly category reporting using systems as Nielsen and Dunnhumby etc
  • The timely delivery of Monthly Business Planning (MBP) data/charts for scenario planning and category review meetings as well as MASH reporting for the Zone/SBU.
  • Effective promotional tracking and providing quarterly reviews’ data to support decision making on promotional strategies.
  • Support CDT in developing data and insights for customer range reviews and customers category sells as well as ecom insights as required.

To be successful, you’ll already have a fantastic breadth of sales or commercial experience under your belt ideally within FMCG categories.  You will be passionate, tenacious, results focused and enjoy working in a highly energetic and exciting environment. Acting as an ambassador for our Nestlé brands, you will have commercial capability and have experience of influencing across all levels. It’s a given that you will know the importance of being able to flex your style whilst working in an environment that can be, at times, ambiguous.

 

You will also:

  • Have previous P&L budget responsibility
  • Be a skilled negotiator and have the ability to conduct multi-faceted negotiations.
  • Have an understanding of forecast planning principles
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data
  • Have category management experience
  • Understand the importance of working in a customer centric way.
  • Be curious! Specifically, to help develop your Category Management skills and techniques.
  • Be courageous, we’re not afraid to think differently and embrace new ideas. We want you to disrupt what we do in the right way to drive great results and change.
  • Demonstrate the ability to learn quickly and take ownership of your personal development journey.
