POSITION SUMMARY:
The CTAG (Category Technical Applications Group) Ingredient Specification Analyst ensures ingredient compliance for Nestlé VMS (Vitamins, Minerals, & Supplements) solid‑dose products by managing end‑to‑end ingredient documentation to meet internal and external requirements. This role develops and maintains accurate ingredient specifications to enable compliant manufacturing and high‑quality finished products, while ensuring data integrity and technical accuracy within SAP. The position is critical to reducing compliance risk and supporting uninterrupted production.
This will be a remote based role.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ingredient Documentation Management
- Collect, review, and maintain ingredient documentation from suppliers to support VMS solid‑dose specifications and recipe management
- Ensure ingredient documentation meets Nestlé internal standards and external compliance requirements
- Own document storage and lifecycle management, including version control and obsolescence
- Partner cross‑functionally to support documentation review and compliance processes
- Identify and maintain vendor manufacturing site information, ensuring required documentation is on file and reflected in the active vendor site database
Specification Development & Master Data
- Define technical ingredient requirements for raw material specifications (RMPS), including potency, physical attributes, food safety, and usage considerations
- Collaborate with global and local raw material experts to align specification requirements
- Manage end‑to‑end ingredient specification requests, including opening and tracking technical assistance tickets through SAP implementation
- Ensure specification accuracy, consistency, and data integrity; reject incomplete data and monitor first‑time‑right performance
- Develop market requirements (MR) documentation for U.S. labeling, COA, and logistical needs
- Identify ingredient harmonization opportunities using global catalogs and supplier data
- Maintain purchasing specification updates and manage creation, activation, and obsolescence of raw material SAP master data
- Collaborate with suppliers and cross‑functional teams on technical requirements, testing expectations, and ongoing recipe support
Continuous Improvement & Ways of Working
- Drive consistency and continuous improvement across document storage, specifications, and ROH master data
- Collaborate with Global MRM, Procurement, QA, Regulatory, and other stakeholders to standardize processes
- Ensure documentation and data are compatible with IT platforms and enterprise search tools
- Leverage digital solutions to automate repetitive activities and improve efficiency
REQUIREMENTS:
- 3+ years of technical experience in a regulated industry (e.g., food, pharmaceuticals, supplements, pet food, infant formula)
- Advanced degree strongly preferred; comparable combination of education and relevant experience will be considered
- Working knowledge of FDA food and/or drug GMPs, regulatory compliance, and food safety standards
- Cross‑functional and cross‑market experience strongly preferred
- Proficiency with standard business and technical systems, including SAP and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint; Visio preferred)
- Knowledge of GMPs, QMS, HACCP, and applicable food safety and quality regulations (e.g., CFR Title 21)
- Strong understanding of ingredient and product design, food manufacturing processes, and market/competitive dynamics
- Demonstrated business acumen within a technical or regulated environment
SKILLS:
- Builds strong relationships with suppliers and cross‑functional partners; uses diplomacy and influence to drive alignment
- Analyzes and interprets complex technical information to support timely, effective decision‑making
- Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing
- Exhibits strong attention to detail with a focus on accuracy and first‑time‑right outcomes

The approximate pay range for this position is $75,000- $90,000 base. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
