POSITION SUMMARY:

 

This position has S & IM purchasing responsibilities for the Maintenance and Engineering areas.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

 

  • Ensures that materials are purchased within budget and timely, to ensure smooth and efficient operations of maintenance and engineering.
  • Create purchase orders for MRO, Services and Indirect materials (S&IM). Back-up support for Capital Purchasing.
  • Maintain purchasing files for Purchase Orders, Confirmations and Receipts.
  • Assist with the creation of contract documents from Legal/Corporate provided templates.  Track contract routing and assist with the executed contract filing.
  • Work with Operational Buyer, Stock Room Team Advisor, Maintenance and Engineering Manager. Provide purchasing and administrative support as needed.
  • Manage blocked/parked invoices to ensure timely payment to vendors.
  • Handle purchasing discrepancies with Suppliers and Requisitioners.
  • Manage GR/IR Report and coordinate corrections for discrepancies.
  • Works with minimal supervision
  • Perform all other duties as assigned

 

While performing all duties, employee is expected to:

 

  • Follow factory food safety, quality objectives & targets
  • Follow Nestle Good Manufacturing Practices, report food safety and quality issues immediately.
  • Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to Nestle Quality Management System on all related procedures and programs.
  • Understand the food safety and quality aspects of the position as indicated on QMS, OJT's and SOP's that apply.
  • Maintains a focus on continuous improvement

 

Skills and Knowledge:

 

  • Ability to work flexible hours, including extended hours during peak times
  • Above average communication skills (written and oral)
  • Ability to comfortably communicate with vendors and corporate contacts
  • Service- oriented attitude
  • Strong listening skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Well-organized
  • Analytical thinking
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, is required; SAP experience is strongly preferred

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

Preferred:

2+ years’ experience with purchasing, budgeting, and financial responsibilities in a maintenance/ engineering department.  SAP computer experience is strongly preferred.

Preferred:

Associate degree in Business Administration or related field.  Will consider 3 years related experience in lieu of a degree.
