Position Summary & Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible for promoting a safety/service mindset for our internal customers.  The scope of activities includes an ability to apply established information and practices in order to encourage and continually improve safety and compliance within the Nestlé Safety Program and Loss Control Objectives. 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:
•    Assists Safety Manager in managing plant safety processes, providing guidance and leadership to ensure compliance to Federal, State and internal Nestlé standards. 
•    Helps meet/maintain ISO certification.
•    Updates (as needed) written standards, policies and procedures.
•    Coordinates on-site industrial hygiene testing and other safety surveys 
•    Manages OSHA required forms including making updates to OSHA 300 Form, posting end-of-year. summary requirements, updating MSDS system, maintaining certifications and permits, and updating files for CDL compliance.
•    Coordinates safety program audits
•    Coordinates safety programs, including safety glasses, hearing conservation tests, medical requirements, and emergency response.
•    Coordinates treatment with physicians and insurance carrier. 
•    Researches and administers cases regarding modified duty, ADA, FMLA, and litigation.
•    Coordinates investigations of injuries, near misses and property damage incidents.  Follows up to minimize future exposure and proper records/documentation are maintained.
•    Develops and manages claim files, their correspondence and resolution of invoicing.
•    Remains up to date with the State of Wisconsin statutes to ensure claim handling is accurate.
•    Coordinates investigations of injuries, near misses and property damage incidents.  Follows up to minimize future exposure and proper records/documentation are maintained.
•    Develops and coordinates safety training to ensure compliance with all Federal, State and Internal Nestle standards.
•    Spends time on the floor engaging team advisors and employees about safety, soliciting ideas, and following up on issues.
•    Serves as a resource for Safety Topics.
•    Develops and maintains the Safety Calendar
•    Completes reports related to safety programs, including performance reports, KPI, etc.
•    Follow factory safety & environmental objectives & targets 
•    Follow the plant safety rules, report incidents & unsafe conditions immediately 
•    Maintain compliance with regulations and refer to the Safety & Environmental Management System(s) on all related procedures and programs. 
•    Throughout all of these responsibilities, maintain a focus on continuous improvement.
 

Qualifications

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

•    BS degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Safety Engineering, or related field highly preferred
•    Experienced preferred however, recent graduates are encouraged to apply

EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:


•    Work experience in Safety, Risk Management, or Occupational Health
•    Working knowledge of OSHA regulations and Worker’s Compensation laws
•    Knowledge of Environmental reporting is a plus

SKILLS:

•    Ability to work flexible hours
•    Above average communication skills (written and oral)
•    Service-oriented attitude
•    Knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
•    Skills in developing and delivering training programs
•    Strong organizational/ administrative skills
