POSITION SUMMARY:

 

As the Senior Inbound/Outbound Logistics Supervisor, you will have the crucial responsibility of leading our production and material control operations and team. In this pivotal role, you will be accountable for ensuring employee safety, maintaining product quality, and optimizing asset performance, all while consistently delivering on-time production plans within budget. As you will be leading a team of 40 members, your ability to develop employees, bridge competency gaps, and guide them through the onboarding process, training, coaching, and corrective action will be instrumental in ensuring your success. With an unwavering focus on results, you will consistently meet and exceed expectations every day. Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Understand all aspects of Safety-Quality-Cost-NCE-TPM and the company handbook.
  • Perform in a variety of capacities related to employment decisions throughout the employment life cycle (i.e. hiring, termination, labor relations issues as appropriate)
  • Provide effective coaching and counsel to teams
  • People Management - Enforce all rules and policies consistently and hold people accountable every day, vacation, shift shortages, grievance, and check and enforce personnel hygiene & safety PPE-ae adhered to daily.
  • Leads daily shift change meetings, weekly staff meetings, DOR, SHO and other meetings as necessaryEnsure there is adequate distribution of skills to enable production plan to be achieved.
  • Ensures competency development within the team by understanding their capabilities relative to factory needs and leveraging both internal and external competency experts to close any gaps.
  • Communicates with maintenance planner concerning issues with daily and weekly maintenance plans, preventative maintenance tasks/frequencies to optimize effort and results.
  • Communicates with Operations Manager on essential items such as nonconformity, production issues, union contractual issues, planning schedules, etc. 
  • Communicates with support (i.e., QA Lab, Engineering, TAG, Supply Chain, and Finance) and customer departments to ensure processing can meet or exceed their expected planned requirements.
  • Respond effectively and work cross-functionally  within the plant particularly with Payroll, Accounting, Safety, Human Resources and MIS.  
  • Reviews manufacturing processing records to ensure CFR, FDA Regulations and Nestlé compliance requirements are followed.  
  • Investigate production deviations and issue reports. 
  • Ensure Quality objectives are met including adherence to GMPS and product quality checks.
  • Ensure SOPS-SSOPS- Work instructions are updated and available for all positions
  • Proactively drive initiatives to achieve business results 
  • Effectively implement, improve and reinforce the company’s environmental health and safety programs and product safety programs
  • Ensure work area /line is tour ready at all times.
  • Keep labor within budget and is effectively utilized every day.
  • Know the people on your line. 
  • Communicate potential /relevant issues or unresolved matters in a timely manner.
  • Conduct root cause analysis using established problem solving techniques.
  • Empower your teams! Keep them engaged so they understand the business. 
  • Inspect what you expect!
  • Other duties as assigned by Manager.
  • Throughout all of these responsibilities, maintains a focus on continuous improvement.
     

 

EXPEREINCE AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

 

Required:  

  • Bachelors Degree in Operations Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or related field.  Will consider 5+ years of manufacturing experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Proven track record of building good working relationships with personnel and partner with functional resources, preferably in a food manufacturing environment

Preferred:  

  • Management experience in a union environment 
  • Experience with spray drying and/or food processing equipment
  • Experience with TPM or Continuous Improvement Methodology
