Associate HR Generalist

Associate HR Generalist

Position Summary

This position supports the Human Resource function for one manufacturing facility, including staffing, temporary staffing/ intern coordination, employee relations, recognition programs, community relations, and more.

 

Staffing and Onboarding:

 

  • Serves as the staffing liaison to corporate for salaried staffing of plant filling out requisition forms and aiding with hiring manager contacts and conducting interviews on-site.
  • Leads the hiring process for hourly positions including recruitment, interviews, coordinating interview travel, maintaining job folders, facilitating background checks and drug screens, new employee data entry, initiating personnel files and building relationships with outside staffing resources
  • Leads/coordinates new hire orientations.  Follows up with new hires regarding onboarding experience
  • Updates organizational charts
  • Maintains Eau Claire Award Post including posting new hourly job positions and awarding positions
  • Coordinates employee leaves of absences including tracking, communication to supervisors and record management in Kronos timekeeping system
  • Processes terminations and conducts exit interviews 
  • Coaches’ employees for development and performance improvement

 

Temporary Staffing, Contractor, & Intern Coordination:

 

  • Serves as the coordinator for any temporary staff. This includes processing invoices and working as the company liaison with the temporary staffing agency.
  • Facilitates the process of setting up contractors in our computer system and terminating them when no longer needed
  • Processes intern timecards and coordinates with payroll

 

Recognition & Other Programs:

 

  • Coordinates infant formula coupon program, baby blankets, employee flu shots, holiday appreciation gifts, and bereavement flowers/cards  
  • Site Wellness coordinator for both health and financial wellness, planning/executing of activities

 

Community Relations / Employee Engagement:

 

  • Coordinates Nestlé involvement in community-related programs and volunteerism through the Vision Committee 
  • Coordinate employee events such as Employee Appreciation Day and other employee events
  • Coordinates Nestle Cares Day

 

Other Human Resource Responsibilities:

 

  • Processes Purchase Orders for the department and completes monthly P-Card reconciliations
  • Maintains position descriptions 
  • Make employee and contractor badges
  • Helps and coordinates the annual Milestone Anniversary celebration
  • Works on Human Resource-related projects and other duties needed to drive department results

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:

Preferred:  Associate degree or greater in Human Resources or related field. Will consider equivalent work experience in lieu of a degree. 1 – 3 years’ experience preferred in HR. 

 

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

 

  • Ability to work flexible hours to support the needs of a 24 hour / 7 day a week manufacturing facility 
  • Above average communication skills (written and oral)
  • Service- oriented attitude
  • Strong listening skills
  • Detail-oriented
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel is required; working with an HRIS system is preferred 
  • Strong administrative/ organizational skills
  • Competent in employment law and applications related to staffing
