Position Summary

 

Assist site IT staff in all respective tasks as it applies to computer technology support in an office and factory setting.  Ensure hardware, software, and data are safeguarded and comply with established Nestle and FDA standards, policies, and procedures.

 

PRIMARY RESPONSIBLITIES:


IT systems referred below includes all computer systems and related peripheral equipment located in the Eau Claire facility including factory floor process control machines under the direction of the local IT department.  

 

Assist in the building and maintenance of IT systems.

 

  • Build and install PCs in an office and factory floor environment.
  • Upgrade and swap users’ PCs with new units.
  • Install printers and other peripheral equipment.
  • Package and ship equipment.
  • Install and upgrade software packages. 

 

Troubleshoot and repair, by vendor or otherwise, all problems that are beyond the scope of user responsibilities.

 

  • Communicate effectively with the users to understand issues and resolve problems.
  • Determine why a PC or piece of equipment has failed and works with vendors and other ITCs and Engineers to resolve the problem.
  • Explain changes to the user making sure that they can continue to do their job when you leave.
  • Work with local and Corporate IT ticket systems to assure proper documentation and timely resolution of problems.

 

Understand and support IT policies and procedures necessary to ensure the proper use and control of IT Systems.

 

  • Create and update installation documentation for hardware and software according to established guidelines.
  • Inventory IT and PC equipment, the software they use, and enter it in on a database system.
  • Order and receive in IT equipment.

 

Performs other duties as assigned.

 

REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:


Required:  Actively pursuing a degree in Information Systems/Technology, Computer Networking, or related field

 

EXPERIENCE:


Required:  Experience with personal computer hardware and software, through employment or coursework.   

 

SKILLS:

 

  • Requires working knowledge of personal computers, Internet, and software such as Microsoft Office, Windows, computer and switch hardware.
  • Strong communication skills- both written and verbal.
  • Self-motivated and self-driven to accomplish tasks and projects.
  • Ability to work with people and create a positive experience for users encountering computer related problems.
