Position Summary
Learn from our experienced engineering and maintenance group while gaining valuable real-world experience in a highly automated and complex food manufacturing facility! If you are working towards a career in engineering technology, construction management, HVAC, plumbing, industrial or facilities maintenance, we have an exciting internship opportunity within our Engineering and Maintenance department. Your schedule will be flexible so you can continue your education simultaneously.
Length of Internship: Start May/June 2022 – December 2022 or longer
Shift: 1st shift M-F 7:00am - 3:30pm (flexible).
Full-time (40+) hours during the summer and Part-time hours (20-25) during the school semesters as your schedule allows.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist Site Utilities Manager with the following:
Project Execution – support the utility and facilities portion of maintenance and investment projects from beginning to end:
- Design – develop bill of materials, cost estimates, timelines, create/update facility and utilities drawings
- Procurement – develop bid specifications, order components, perform bid analysis
- Execution – contractor management, assist with I/O checkout, testing, start-up support, documentation updates
Preventative Maintenance – help organize and develop boiler, ammonia, and compressed air preventative maintenance tasks by incorporating OEM, Nestlé, and RAGAGEP standards into 5W+1H pm format. Analyze the current install base and review the availability of spare parts and product lifecycle status; propose changes required for continued support and part availability
Safety and Environmental:
- Follow all plant safety rules
- Report incidents and unsafe conditions immediately
- Maintain compliance with all safety and environmental regulations, policies, and objectives
Quality:
- Follow Nestle GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices)
- Report food safety and quality issues immediately
- Maintain compliance with all food safety and quality regulations, policies, and objectives
REQUIREMENTS AND MINIMUM EDUCATION LEVEL:
Currently enrolled in an associate’s or bachelor’s degree program in engineering technology, construction management, mechanical engineering, mechanical maintenance, or HVAC. Actively enrolled in school with at least one semester of course work.
SKILLS:
- Highly motivated, organized, good communicator, works well with others
- Reading and understanding of general arrangement, and process & instrument diagrams
- AutoCAD, Word, Excel, Powerpoint
