Position Summary
One of our newest factories, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. With a strong focus on sustainability and safety, this facility is committed to doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. As we expand, we proudly build upon our 90-year legacy of crafting science-based dog and cat foods that pet owners’ trust. As a Calibration Technician, you are responsible for ensuring the accuracy and reliability of various measuring and testing equipment used in our manufacturing facility. Your primary job is to validate the calibration process equipment, manage tool calibrations, and adjust as required to meet the required standards and specifications. Additionally, you will manage the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) and calibration systems, have a good understanding of measurement principles and be familiar with various calibration standards and procedures.
- Conduct tests and inspections to verify the accuracy and functionality of equipment.
- Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with equipment and perform necessary repairs or adjustments.
- Document calibration procedures, results, and maintaining accurate records of all calibration activities ensuring compliance with standards, regulations, and quality control procedures.
- Manage calibration/validation workload to ensure compliance, utilizing CMMS system and Calibration software.
- Collaborate with the Quality department and other professionals to develop and improve calibration procedures and techniques.
- Provide technical support for other maintenance activities as directed by Team Leader, including performing routine maintenance and preventive maintenance tasks on all assigned equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance knowledge and skills related to calibration and Maintenance techniques and equipment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- 2+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, industrial, military, or related environment OR a 2-year technical degree
The hourly pay for this position is $32.25 an hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
