POSITION SUMMARY

 

Our newest factory, located along the Virginia border, breathes new life into a former brewery, creating an innovative and technologically advanced pet food manufacturing facility. We have transformed the existing structure in Rockingham County to produce leading dry dog and cat food brands, including Purina Pro Plan®, Purina ONE®, and Purina Pro Plan Veterinary Diets®. With a strong focus on sustainability and safety, this facility is committed to doing our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal. As we expand, we proudly build upon our 90-year legacy of crafting science-based dog and cat foods that pet owners’ trust. As an Electromechanical Technician, you will maintain, troubleshoot, repair, and modify production equipment with a focus on electrical and automation systems. Occasional tasks could involve infrastructure/building & grounds work. You will work with production and maintenance personnel to solve problems and implement solutions quickly in order to keep factory assets operating efficiently.

 

*Position will be 6pm - 6am.*

 

  • Remain proficient with the operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of industrial electrical control systems, electromechanical systems, and fluid power.
  • Understand how automated equipment and its components work; utilize knowledge of PLC programming to troubleshoot production equipment without modifying programing.
  • Properly use mechanical and electrical tools and diagnostic instruments.
  • Work independently and collaboratively to maintain equipment and solve technical problems.
  • Operate forklift to move equipment or parts as needed.
  • Remain proficient at utilizing computerized maintenance management systems and other digital tools.
  • Utilize basic rigging, mechanical practices, pipefitting, and welding skills in an industrial environment.
  • Perform other miscellaneous duties as directed.
  • Perform all tasks with safety and food safety best practices.
  • Utilize knowledge and skills to train other employees.

 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent with 3+ years’ industrial electrical/mechanical experience that includes knowledge in PLC troubleshooting, VFDs, ladder logic, motors, and electrical maintenance, etc. in a manufacturing, industrial, military or related environment OR Associate degree with 1+ year of relevant industrial electrical experience

 

The hourly pay for this position is $35.25 an hour. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
