Position Summary
As an Associate Materials Manager you will play a crucial role in training and guiding Materials Department associates. Your primary objective will be to ensure the provision of the highest quality ingredients at the most competitive prices, aligning with the plant's production needs in an ever-changing environment. In addition, you will execute purchasing decisions and initiate new ideas to provide lower cost through improved logistics, supplier partnerships and energy procurement.
Primary Responsibilities
Manage rail demurrage, truck detention, and truck premiums related to ingredient transportation
Handle emergency substitutions to maintain uninterrupted production
Maintain open communication with Corporate Strategic Buyers to align inventory strategies
Analyze ingredient positions, provide advice, and execute necessary actions
Analyze inbound ingredient freight costs and evaluate mode of transportation for cost optimization
Provide proper training and cross-functional training to the Materials Department and other departments as needed
Evaluate the performance of department personnel and provide constructive feedback
Requirements
High School Diploma or GED
5-7 years’ experience in a materials planning, logistics, purchasing or related, preferably within a manufacturing, distribution, or military environment

The approximate pay range for this position is $64,000 - $96,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with Company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
