Our dry pet food factory, located just 10 miles from downtown, has been a production facility for over 50 years. As a Controls Technical Specialist I, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing the accuracy, reliability, and system control’s data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. Oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment and as you work collaboratively with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.
- Perform troubleshooting of automation systems and provide instrumentation, PLC, and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support to the maintenance staff.
- Execute plant projects and capital projects from conception through completion.
- Maintain an up-to-date and complete set of as-built electrical and controls documentation.
- Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades.
- Perform Network Administration and Data Administration tasks for networked, PC-based control systems-related equipment.
- Develop, read, and interpret all electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and programs essential to plant operation and provide updates as necessary.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 3+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems
- OR
- Associate’s Degree in a technical discipline
- 1+ year of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PC-based HMI systems
Other
- Day shift. On call required. Occasional weekend or holiday work required.
The approximate pay range for this position is $62,000-$83,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
