Our dry pet food factory, located just 10 miles from downtown, has been a production facility for over 50 years. As producers of iconic brands such as Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, and Beneful®, we contribute to the well-being of pets in the community and nationwide. As a Controls Technical Specialist II, you’ll be responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and enhancing the accuracy, reliability, and system controls data credibility of PLC and PC-based automation systems. Oversee PLC upgrades and wiring modifications on production equipment and as you work directly with our maintenance team to troubleshoot and support production line modifications.   

 

  • Execute plant projects and capital projects by providing programming and electrical support through conception to completion.
  • Implement control systems software upgrades.
  • Configure, program, and troubleshoot Programmable Logic Controls (PLC).
  • Perform troubleshooting of automation systems and provides instrumentation, PLC, and HMI/SCADA software and hardware support and training to the plant maintenance personnel.
  • Perform Preventive Maintenance for controls and organize electrical/control parts inventory.

 

Requirements

  • Associate or technical degree in a related technical discipline 
  • 5+ years of applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PLC-based HMI-systems 

Other

  • Day shift. On call required. Occasional weekend or holiday work required. 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $74,000-$103,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
