Our dry pet food factory, located just 10 miles from downtown, has been a production facility for over 50 years. POSITION SUMMARY
As Materials Planning Coordinator, you will assist the Materials Manager with the procurement of high-quality ingredients in volumes consistent with plant usage, market structures and division guidelines. You will set up logistical movements of contracted ingredients via rail and truck conveyances, with the overview to minimize freight costs. In addition, the Materials Planning Coordinator will monitor the progress of these conveyance movements to constantly maintain optimum inventories, while protecting scheduled production, and minimizing ingredient substitutions as well as rail/truck detention.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Arrange logistical transportation for prescribed ingredients used at the Oklahoma City plant.
- Assemble the requisitioning of ingredients purchased by the St. Louis Buying Staff via guidelines set forth through our M.R.P systems.
- Monitor elevator bin space, liquid tanks, and flat-sacked ingredient floor space in collaboration with Unloading Team Leader.
- Assist with the successful implementation of our Quality Assurance guidelines for incoming ingredients.
- Utilize and be proficient with information systems, SAP, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Have full working knowledge of other buyer’s responsibilities and perform these duties in his/her absence. Provide vacation coverage for other team members.
- Resolve payment/unloading variance issues as they may arise.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1+ years’ experience performing administrative duties in a manufacturing, military, logistics or related field
The approximate pay range for this position is $42,000.00 - $62,000.00 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
