Position Summary

 

As Materials Coordinator you’ll be responsible for managing assigned commodities to ensure 100% availability to meet scheduled production for the factory. The primary areas of focus in this position will be inventory monitoring, ordering/expediting, freight, building internal/external working relationships, and end of month reports.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Work with finished goods planning to determine required quantities of assigned raw materials needed based on the production schedule and MRP system to assure that the inventory balances will support production while avoiding excess inventories.
  • Order assigned raw materials as needed from outside vendors, using the SAP and any auxiliary systems. Freight planning as needed.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all vendor communications and as the collection point for the vendor notification process (VNR).
  • Coordinate shipments of returned / rejected materials.
  • Publish a weekly receiving schedule for assigned raw materials.
  • Assist with master data updates of the MRP system


Basic Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1+ years of experience in raw material purchasing and scheduling
