POSITION SUMMARY
Our dry pet food factory, located just 10 miles from downtown, has been a production facility for over 50 years. As producers of iconic brands such as Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, and Beneful®, we contribute to the well-being of pets in the community and nationwide. Our Production Operators are the feeder group for all production-based operator positions within the various production departments, which include Unloading, Dry Pet Processing and Dry Pet Packing. Team members train during and/or after the training period and will be moved to one of several critical factory positions to operate, including Extruder Operator, Utility, Packing Operator, etc.
- Train on specific production equipment/machinery in a safe and productive manner.
- Provide support to operators in Unloading, Processing and Packing.
- Run unloading, processing, and packing equipment, and serve as backups to operator positions in various departments.
- Troubleshoot and complete preventative maintenance/clean and inspect checklist for equipment
- Effectively work with interdepartmental personnel in order to maintain a good flow of safety, quality, and production information throughout the plant.
- Operate a forklift as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma OR GED Equivalent.
- 1+ years of experience operating and troubleshooting machinery/equipment in a manufacturing, production, agricultural, military, or related environment.
The approximate hourly pay for this position is $29.58. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
