POSITION SUMMARY

Nestle Purina has a large presence in Oklahoma City (OKC) with one of our dry pet food factories located just 10 miles outside of downtown in Edmond. Having served as a production facility for many years in this area as producers of Dog Chow®, Puppy Chow®, Beneful® and Purina ONE® brands, we have left a big paw print. 

 

The Production Supervisor is responsible for Production or Packaging Departments, including the supervision and leadership of a team of approximately 20 employees in the manufacturing and packaging of extruded pet food. The Production Supervisor coordinates all first line functions regarding production planning, management of team members, man-hours, quality, safety, and sanitation.

  • Direct supervision of hourly employees in the Packaging and Further Processing areas.
  • Ensure a safe and clean environment per Pathogen Monitoring Program and Master Sanitation Plan requirements and defect scores.
  • Manage the production or packaging schedule to maximize output while minimizing costs.
  • Promote a “Zero Defect” quality culture theme in the work environment assuring target compliance.
  • Work with order planner, warehouse, and other internal teams to meet customer demand.
  • Coordinate cross functionally with all team leaders and managers in meeting total plant goals.
  • Communicate clearly and concisely the daily packaging activity to other shift team leaders (i.e. packaging schedule changes, hold product, etc.).
  • Adhere to the collective bargaining agreement.
  • All other duties and responsibilities as presented.

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required

  • 2+ years’ experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment AND 1+ years’ supervisory experience in a manufacturing, military, or related environment

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $63,000 to $92,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
