POSITION SUMMARY:  

 

For more than 100 years, Purina has led the charge in revolutionizing pet food production and its ability to enrich the lives of pets everywhere. By 1956, through innovative engineering, we literally reshaped Pet Care, introducing Dog Chow® as the first extruded dry food. We’re still at it today, with Tidy Cats®, the lightweight cat litter champion of the world and our new Ultra-Premium brands, Beyond® and Just Right® pet food.

 

As a Quality Technician Analyst you will collect and test finished product samples to ensure that all pet food products manufactured by the OKC facility meet specifications of NPPC. The QA Analyst is responsible for timely and accurate generation & completion of analytical, formulation, process and product information for the manufacturing of our pet foods.

 

  • Analyze finished product using various test methods, including wet chemistry
  • Perform formulations including format, bin bottoms, ingredient changes, and fines utilization
  • Perform sensory evaluations of in process and finished product
  • Investigate & communicate all quality results plus recommend corrections to production personnel
  • Use various software applications for data entry, investigation, and analysis
  • Maintain Instrument calibrations
  • Execute hold product procedures in a timely manner
  • Analyze data and release product through formal release & GLOBE programs
  • Sample and test incoming ingredients

 

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED required, Associates or B.S. degree preferred
  • Experience 2+ years working in a food manufacturing environment OR A two-year degree in a science –related area of study.  1+ years of quality assurance experience preferred.

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $43,000 to $56,000 annually. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
