Position Summery:
For more than 100 years, Purina has led the charge in revolutionizing pet food production and its ability to enrich the lives of pets everywhere. By 1956, through innovative engineering, we literally reshaped Pet Care, introducing Dog Chow® as the first extruded dry food. We’re still at it today, with Tidy Cats®, the lightweight cat litter champion of the world and our new Ultra-Premium brands, Beyond® and Just Right® pet food.
As a Staff Engineer, you’ll lead the design, estimation, justification, and execution of capital projects. Work collaboratively as you proactively communicate with cross-functional teams to drive results. You’ll investigate and resolve plant operational concerns and identify opportunities for continuous improvement of safety, quality, processes, productivity, and efficiency. Spearhead operational optimization through planned equipment maintenance and facility improvements as well as timely troubleshooting of manufacturing systems.
- Direct the installation of new equipment and automation enhancements and provide training for plant personnel.
- Monitor outside contractors to ensure compliance with all company standards including safety, quality, and cost control.
- Support maintenance team leaders and provide engineering assistance as needed.
- Provide utilities management expertise to ensure energy efficiency, environmental prioritization and compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
- 2+ years of experience in plant engineering, specifically project management within a manufacturing, production, or military environment.
The approximate pay range for this position is $84,000 to $108,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
