Position Summary
Purina is seeking a Senior Product Manager to help build Purina’s pet data platform and lead the creation of digital and data products that help pet owners in the proactive management of their pet’s health and care. In this position, you will work with stakeholders across Purina and Nestle, as well as with key ecosystem partners, to identify common needs, product requirements and to build useful services and features. You will also identify the needed resources in the areas of product management, product marketing, technology, analytics, engineering, and operations needed to support the full lifecycle of current and future product development in this area. Knowledge of technical platforms, infrastructure, analytics, partnerships, data governance and privacy will be critical to the success of this initiative, and the Senior Product Manager will play a leading role in determining how to use the resources of Nestle and its partners to support Purina’s efforts to transform the management of pet nutrition, health and care.
Key responsibilities
- Own, define and execute the pet data product and platform strategy for Nestle Purina Europe
- Help build capabilities in the digital team needed to support this strategy and accelerate transformation of this team to a more agile, digital product vs. digital marketing centric organization
- Identify the components needed to build a robust pet data platform that connects pet owners to a multitude of partners and demonstrates clear benefits for the pet, pet owner and participating partners
- Actively engage with pet owners and partners to understand their user-centric needs and get regular feedback on current and planned features and functionality
- Make relevant pet health and wellbeing data and insights accessible to pet owners and their chosen pet care providers
- Drive alignment across business and partnership stakeholders on product strategy and functionality
- Create Product Requirement Documents that align business needs with technical design
- Drive the product development lifecycle for features and improvements from conception through post-launch optimization
- Understand end users and data to identify opportunities for ongoing improvement
- Work with legal and privacy experts to define data governance and privacy standards in line with the product roadmap
- Work with partners to establish legal and commercial terms and monetization strategies
What will make you successful
- 10+ years experience in product management for digital and/or data products with knowledge of product & partnership marketing and business-building around digital products
- Very strong critical thinking and analytical skills. Ability to take an ambiguous problem, use data-informed brainstorming, identify goals and clear metrics, and drive a team to deliver on those goals.
- Experience and love for working with and organizing large datasets, data management, knowledge graphs, or big data projects in a data engineering or data science capacity is a plus.
- Deep understanding of data governance and privacy and consent issues and a passion for protecting consumer privacy.
- Fluency in Machine Learning techniques and applications.
- Good user instincts and a consumer-centric mindset - experience working with user research, running experiments, and iterating on ideas to benefit end users. Some experience with direct-to-consumer products is a plus.
- Experience building and leading product teams
- Experience in data & analytics, UX/UI and data visualization are a plus
- Experience working with products that leverage developer toolkits such as AppleHealthKit or HomeKit are a plus
- A passion for pets and an interest in promoting life long health and well being for pets and pet owners
