Position Summary

 

In order to complete our IT Platforms Department, we are currently looking for a Technology Expert – Omni Channel / eCommerce / DevOps  Infrastructure

 

In this position, you will bring deep expertise and knowledge to the Omni Channel platform team. The Technical Expert works to ensure that operational deployment and production realization of Business solutions in the areas of Expertise, meets Omni Channel and eCommerce business needs in terms of Operational availability and stability, SLOs, compliance. Working at the leading edge of IS/IT for the Omni Channel team, the Technology Expert performs preliminary studies, helping to set the technological direction with the platform manager. You will support delivery and sustain of the most complex applications and business capabilities and may be accountable for specific deliverables in relation to development or support or may lead the technical activity within their area of specialty.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Provide specialist skills to investigate and coordinate resolution and recovery actions for assigned incidents and requests.
  • Provide technical support to minimize service disruptions by running analysis and driving corrective measures, liaise with software vendors to analyze and fix software solutions, monitor and document system performance and design and implement backup and recovery strategies
  • Security and Compliance: Define and ensure control points to reduce risks, define compliance monitoring and alerting framework for critical architectural elements and support the audit process. 
  • Training and Knowledge Transfer: Support training to the offshore service provider and regional teams, design and document procedures for the operation of the Omni Channel and eSolution environment and landscape and deliver successive support level to offshore team. 
  • Operational Expertise: Apply Change and Release management practices, define and documented related changes, present tasks and changes at Approval Boards, scan the tasks queue and work on or assign tasks to other team members.
Are you a fit?

 

  • A deep rooted understanding and recent expertise in using Puppet (5.x).  Specific expertise in the use of existing manifests for any and all required application, database, infrastructure, or systems / server automation tasks.
  • The use of Jenkins for all encompassing continuous integration and delivery, including the development and deployment of automated build (Maven) solutions, testing solutions (JUnit, NUnit, among others), and release of code into production environments. 
  • A high level of proficiency in working within Git as a version control solution.  Ideally, expertise in the integration of Git with Continuous Integration and Delivery solutions. 
  • The use of HAProxy for high availability load balancing, the management and monitoring of communication between heterogeneous, highly performant application landscapes.
  • Expertise in working within Red Hat 7.x (RHEL 7), with previous experience in all aspects of the configuration, administration, automation, monitoring, and maintenance of said high availability systems using commonly used as well as complex automated scripts in Bash Shell, Python, among other Linux based scripting languages. 
  • Prior experience using Elasticsearch, Logstash, Kibana (ELK stack), Wireshark + TCPDump, Grafana, among other fully encompassing application, performance, and security solutions. 
  • Prior exposure working with other tools or technology such as Akamai CDN, SAP Hybris, among others.
  • 5 or more years of experience maintaining and supporting the Omni Channel and eSolution landscapes in a large corporate environment with globally dispersed teams.
  • Thorough understanding of concepts such as "Development Operations", "Infrastructure as Code", and/or "Continuous Integration & Delivery" is required. 
  • Expertise working on the command line to configure, deploy, and automate various Red Hat / RHEL 7 instances and redundant processes using Bash (Shell) or other scripting languages is required. 
  • Previous experience serving as the "Subject Matter Expert" over all infrastructure automation initiatives as well as the resolution of extremely complex issues related to the reliability, availability, and performance of applications and supporting infrastructure is preferred. 
  • Extensive knowledge and formal experience in the development and automation of application / infrastructure / monitoring platforms, tools, and associated technology supporting a global application landscape is preferred.
