The Role:
R&D Information Technology (IT) is the stream in Nestlé IT in charge of powering the R&D function with IT capabilities to drive company growth through breakthrough research than can be translated quickly into products and services.  

 

Digital technologies are triggering a crucial, comprehensive transformation of R&D organizations, and Nestlé is no exception. It is not only about adopting digital tools, but is a fundamental shift in the operating model for R&D. For this reason, Nestlé R&D has developed a strategy to leverage digital to accelerate time to value, protect the core and unlock new opportunities, for example, by leveraging consumer insights to drive innovation and renovation. 

As a Senior Product Portfolio Manager within R&D IT, you will drive operations in the stream’s Portfolio and Service Management to ensure all R&D IT teams deliver with quality, consistency and efficiency.

 

Reporting to the R&D IT Product Stream Operations Manager (PSOM), you will be responsible for:

  1. End-to-end Portfolio Management, both at Global and R&D Site levels
    1. Oversee the demand management process to ensure demands are mapped to the right teams and projects, aligned with R&D goals and R&D IT portfolio, ensuring it is well reflected on Service Now PPM.
    2. Collect key IT deliveries impacting R&D sites and consolidate them in our Integrated Plan to provide visibility and increase coordination and planning across R&D sites
    3. Coordinate invoicing processes to ensure timely and accurate billing to feed into dynamic forecasting for Above Market and Functional Envelope budgets.
  2. Service Management: 
    1. Oversee IT Service Management (ITSM) operations, including change and request activities, acting as R&D IT contact point with Service Management to ensure seamless operations and coordinate with R&D IT vendors, particularly new ones, to establish operational governance.
    2. Automation: Identify areas for automation and elimination to give R&D IT people time back to focus on delivering value to R&D, while driving adoption of continuous improvement of stream operations.

 

By fulfilling these responsibilities, you will play a crucial role in optimizing and driving operations across R&D IT products, ensuring its alignment with organizational objectives and driving its ongoing improvement.

 

What you'll do

  • Build clear and documented ways of working in R&D IT for PPM activities and Service Management.
  • Improve and standardize processes when needed in Portfolio and Service Management area for R&D IT.
  • Maintain a central and updated Integrated Plan listing all key projects impacting R&D sites.
  • Ensure all streams operations are clearly documented and running smoothly.
  • Define rules and standards where needed.
  • Drive a continuous improvement mindset for all operations aspects.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably computer science or field related to the product.
  • Experience with Operations processes in ServiceNow (ITFM, PPM, ITSM).
  • Demonstrated experience in a product based IS/IT organization.
  • 5+ years’ experience in IS/IT (e.g. Operations specialist, Portfolio Manager, PM, etc.).
  • Proven track record of taking ownership and successfully delivering results in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Experience with effective communication at different levels in the organization and in English.
  • Experience with R&D systems.

 

Bonus points if you: 

  • Experience working in a global environment and with virtual teams
  • Exposure to multiple, diverse technical configurations, technologies and processing environments
  • Experience in coordinating, prioritizing and validating tech teams and vendors work
