Requirements
• An internship agreement with your University or Business School
Mandatory to have a valid NIE (identification number for foreigners) that allows you to do a full time/ part time internship 
• You need to have the Spanish Social Security Number (NASS)
• Residence: temporary or permanent in Barcelona
• Fluent in English.

 

Terms & Conditions:
• Scholarship 960€ per month (full time)
• Grant canteen

Period of internship:
• 6 months internship starting in March 2023
• Full time (Monday to Friday from 9 to 6pm)

Position Summary

 

Nespresso’s E-Commerce UX/UI Operations Dev Team is searching for a Web Application Tester to join our team and help us take our quality standards to a new height.

Reporting to the Nespresso eCommerce UX/UI Operations Dev Team Lead and working alongside our existing team of developers, you will help to ensure that the work that is produced by the team is of a high quality and directly meets the needs of the business.

As an ideal candidate, you are highly motivated, methodical and passionate about delivering quality solutions, and who will possess excellent attention to detail. You are well-acquainted with manual and automated testing techniques and technologies, writing and validating test plans against business needs, functional specs and designs, and, ultimately, making sure solutions work smoothly, are AA-accessible and look pixel-perfect. You are methodical and used to following and enforcing standards, and thorough and factual in your explanations.

This assignment is conceived as a six (6) months-long internship for undergraduates (with a possible extension), but all candidates will be considered.

A day in the life of...

 

 

· Play a key role in software quality improvement for customer facing websites.

· Identify test scenarios for web site solutions produced by the team.

· Write test plans and perform functional, standards and cross-browser compliance testing.

· Identify and document all system errors.

· Maintain a repository of test plans.

· Ensure all work meets customer expectations and quality standards (performance, accessibility, look & feel, tracking, etc…).

What will make you successful

 

· Bachelor’s degree in IT, software engineering, computer science or equivalent.

· Firm understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC)

· Ability to define test cases from functional requirements and/or designs.

· Expert in cross browser/environment/device testing.

· Ability to handle multiple projects / tasks simultaneously, with an eye for prioritization.

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Solid English communication skills (written and verbal) are a must-have.

· Excellent attention to detail.

· An aptitude for ongoing learning and ability to develop skill sets.

Valuable requirements:

 

· Proven previous experience in testing web applications.

· Solid knowledge of HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. Previous work experience is not mandatory, but a BIG plus.

· Familiar with PHP.

· Familiar with tools used in web application testing such as Monsido (or similar), PhpUnit (or similar), Karma (or similar), Cypress (or similar), Firebug / Dev Tools (or similar), etc…

· Knowledge of web standards and technologies including accessibility (WCAG), Web Components, etc…

· Previous software development experience would be a BIG plus.

· Previous experience with Confluence and JIRA would be a BIG plus.

· Previous experience with vue.js or Google Tag Manager (GTM) would be a BIG plus.

· Previous experience with InVision and/or Sketch would be a BIG plus.
