Position Summary

 

A Senior IT Vendor Manager is responsible for coaching and leading Product Managers and IT Vendor Managers to ensure the most effective Vendor Management practices and capabilities are employed across Nestle IT globally. He/she develops Strategic Concepts based on Industry Standards to support Service Delivery Strategies Definitions, Sourcing models, risk/performance management methodologies and he/she is a Subject Matter Expert for collaboration with Nestlé Global Procurement reflecting the requirements in a simplified common framework that includes clearly defined and transparent IT vendor performance metrics in accordance to structured governance with the vendors.


He/she leads a specific discipline of Vendor Management using the IT Product Management methodology and is responsible for Vendor Management product evolution, adoption and development.


He/she also helps adopt the expected behaviours from all internal and external stakeholder in relation to the IT strategy and IT sourcing strategy, acting as interface between Executive Sponsors of IT vendors and the vendors themselves. The Senior IT Vendor Manager provides Vendor Management Managers and Specialists with competency growth paths, standards, ways of working for effective Vendor value delivery and guidance from Statement of Work definition to value and risk management during contact execution.


He/she Is the escalation point for Vendor Management roles across IT in relation to Key Strategic Vendors.
 

A day in the life of...

 

  • Delivers best-in-class IT Products with the right balance of external services and assets at the best value for money, risk and speed balance; Delivering quality and Vendor Management capabilities that balance value, cost, risk and speed over time according to IT technology sourcing strategy.
  • Define governance models, ensuring appropriate timely evaluations of new sources of services, managing the transition from one source to another.
  • Facilitates the development of the IT sourcing and partner (ecosystem) management strategy and translates corporate IT and business initiatives into IT sourcing targets
  • Supports the implementation of effective vendor ecosystem management practices to support Product Groups end-to-end accountability and value delivery
  • Participates in the establishment of strategic IT vendor management programs across the enterprise
  • Ensures the development and maturity of key sourcing and vendor management competencies and support “tools”, from business relationship management and strategy definition, RFP templates, scoring templates, best practices for managing vendor (ecosystem) relationship, and overseeing contract terms and conditions and vendor performance
  • Leads IT Vendor Governance: defines action plans and monitor actions
  • Leads the evaluation of optimal sourcing and pricing options, taking into consideration outsourcing, managed services, cloud, hybrid and insourcing models and well as multi-partner ecosystem strategies
  • Advise Product Group teams about appropriate service expectations around timing, execution of strategy and delivery. 
  • Provide learning & training, coaching and leadership advice to select vendors, build alliances and drive high delivery performance
  • Ensure high quality/high impact transparency and decision-making within the governance bodies and in all interactions with IT customers
  • Develop high performing teams and in alignment with the People process cycle and the 5 people practices
     

What will make you successful

 

  • Preferably bachelor's degree in business (IT management), engineering or IT
  • 10+ years in negotiating and managing IT contracts and relationships or experience as an IT vendor, managing customer accounts and relationships
  • Technology background and/or experience working in IT enabling the understanding and technology acumen required
  • Digital Productization Knowledge 
  • Experience in interactions with both internal and external senior leaders and comfort in collaboration with executives
  • Experience and proven leadership experience in virtual teams across various locations (near-shore and off-shore)
  • Contract management and negotiation skills.
  • Operating in a matrix organization and development of influencing skills.
  • Experience in effective communication at different level in the organisation and in English
