The role  
As a member of the SAP Technologies area, you will use your expertise and passion to contribute to the team’s success within one of the largest and most complex SAP implementations in the world. As SAP Basis Technology Expert, you will drive operational excellence, design and architect solutions to deliver resilient, compliant and performant SAP Landscape, and contribute to Global IT projects like our SAP S/4 HANA Transformation. 

You will be part of the SAP Landscape team and will work closely with IT Product Streams and partners to ensure to deliver SAP platform technology roadmap and value to the business.

 

What you’ll do

  • Provide deep expert SAP Technologies/Basis guidance and support in their specific specialties (e.g. HANA, S/4 suite, SAP Business suite (ERP, BW/BI, APO, PI), SAP SaaS Solutions (BTP, SSF) etc.)
  • Collaborate with internal partners to identify relevant standard solutions that would be available for efficient deployment.
  • Where required, innovate (architect, design, integrate, build, test a customer specific solution), this includes the technical application stack, infra stack or services
  • Provides the product team with technical expertise, advising on best technology solutions, translating the business vision into technical vision.
  • Makes recommendations on how to improve the effectiveness, efficiency and delivery of services using (emerging) technology and technical methods and methodologies.
  • Participates in the development of and/or review of standards, documentation and methods of working in the relevant area of expertise
  • Ensures solution operational readiness and defines global procedures and processes for operations in the area of expertise
  • Ensures IT Customer and Consumer requirements are met, and service quality maintained when introducing new products. Considers the cost effectiveness of proposed solutions.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all solutions within their technology area are delivered and maintained secure and compliant with internal standards and external regulations, including privacy requirements
  • Problem solving skills, including incident resolution, RCA. Able to take technical requirements, analysis these, identify existing solutions or architect new.

What Will Make You Successful 
Technical skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Management, or a related field
  • Strong expertise in SAP technologies and products; SAP certification is a significant advantage
  • 8+ years of experience in SAP BASIS, HANA, and SUSE Linux (preferably with Pacemaker)
  • 2+ years of experience with hyperscaler infrastructure, tools, and operational processes (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA, including Fiori, embedded gateway, and technical system conversions
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including incident resolution and root cause analysis (RCA)
  • Ability to analyze technical requirements, identify existing solutions, or architect new ones
  • Solid understanding of IT Service Management (ITSM) tools and industry best practices 

 

Soft Skills 

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a global team and thrive in fast-paced environments
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences
  • Composed under pressure, maintaining focus on delivering high-quality service to customers
  • Excellent presentation skills, including the use of storytelling techniques and PowerPoint to convey information engagingly
  • Proficient in creating clear, comprehensive, and well-structured documentation, including standards and procedures
