Position Summary

 

In order to complete our IT Platforms Department, we are currently looking for a Technology Specialist – Omni Channel / eCommerce / DevOps Infrastructure

 

In this position, you are responsible for ensuring that operational deployment and production realization of business solutions utilizing DevOps infrastructure meet Omni Channel and eCommerce business needs in terms of availability, stability, SLOs and compliance.  You guide and promote the optimal use of technology to support the cost-effective delivery of business requirements within your area of expertise.  You support delivery and sustain of complex applications and business capabilities and may be asked to lead certain technical activities in your area of specialty.  Working at the leading edge of IS/IT for the Omni Channel Infrastructure team, the Technology Specialist also performs preliminary studies to help set the future technological direction of the organization with the technology experts.  Since you will be interacting with internal and external teams across different levels in the organization, good communication and stakeholder management is desired.

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Provide technical support for applications used by the business.
  • Work with the Solution Architect to ensure enterprise architecture principles are followed.
  • Responsible for executing operational requirements for new and existing solutions.
  • Investigates and reviews existing Solution deficiencies and gaps (especially solution stability and availability).
  • Support and influence the technical activity (design, build, testing) in significant or complex innovation initiatives.
  • Support the implementation of change requests and collaborate on post-implementation reviews and problem resolution.
  • Assist in ensuring that all solutions within their technology area are delivered and maintained secure and compliant with internal standards and external regulations.
  • Work with IS/IT Innovation Managers, Platform Managers, Tech Leads, Solution Architects and Business Analysts as required to ensure any solution within their specific specialization fits with the organization’s strategic and technical direction.
Are you a fit?

 

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of experience in designing, building, testing, and supporting Application Solutions.
    • For our eServices team: Knowledge and understanding of Akamai.  SAP Hybris, Apache and Tomcat are a plus.
    • For our eMonitoring team: Knowledge and understanding of at least one of the following Performance and Monitoring tools - InfluxDB, Grafana, Dynatrace or Gatling
  • Experience with DevOps tools such as Puppet, Jenkins, Kubernetes, Docker is a plus
  • Certifications in corresponding technical fields is also a plus.
  • Understanding and knowledge of system development life cycle methodologies (such as agile software development, rapid prototyping and DevOps, project management principles).
  • Understanding and knowledge of IS/IT standards and controls.
  • Root cause elimination and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Effective communication at different levels in the organization.  English language is a must.
  • Must be willing to work in a diverse, multi-cultural environment and with virtual teams.
