We are now looking for a Factory Engineer to be based in our Estcourt Facility. 
In this role you will be responsible to ensure Safety, Quality, Food safety, People management, Cost management and Asset performance. The scope includes production facilities, utilities or Industrial Services, Buildings and yard, internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities                                                 

  • GMR 2.1 responsibility for the site
  • Build Engineering Capability: Ensures alignment of the Engineering resources with Factory strategy and objectives. Ensures that the needs of Engineering and its functional competencies are identified and that training is oriented to meet these needs and cover any competency gaps. Ensures that career and succession planning is developed  for Engineering team within the Factory. Ensure Engineering operates as part of a multi-functional team with clear and open communication.
  • Manage existing & new Assets - Planned Maintenance (PM): Supports and ensures the implementation of Asset Maintenance (including Spray dryers, Extraction systems, evaporation assets and so on) and TPM-PM to deliver eUPS to meet business requirements. Ensures maintenance expense control by budgeting and  routinely reviewing expenditure.
  • Manage existing & New Assets - Industrial Services: Ensure that the utilities' need for Production are fulfilled, managed and optimized. That all utilities (Steam, Hot Air, compressed air, Potable water, HVAC systems, Chilled water, cooling water) that may come in contact directly or indirectly, with products are treated according to defined food safety criteria. Manage Waste Water Treatment plant and Power generation system and its distribution assets. Focus on Energy and water savings including GHG reduction and journey out of coal as per Nestlé strategy including plastics
  • Excel in Industrialization: Ensures that the investment strategy stemming from business plan provides a framework for the management of Capital Investment within the Factory. Monitors and ensures the management of Capital expenditure. Ensures and performs the implementation of Project Foundations throughout the preparation and execution of all capital and Industrialization Projects.
  • Define and adhere to standards - MES-E&A, Digitalize the factory as per plan: Ensures that the electrical services, degree of automation, Factory Floor Information technology (FFIT&FAS), Digital and MES at factory site level are in line with the Business requirements and standards.

 

Key Experiences:

  • Minimum 5 years in a technical field, preferably food manufacturing or consumer goods industry (Project Manager, Industrial Services, M&I or E&A/MES Engineer, or equivalent positions)
  • Fixed Assets Maintenance responsibilities, including maintenance budget preparation and control (preferably including exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning and/or maintenance execution)
  • Personnel Supervision (of technical teams, contractors or other 3rd parties)
  • Preparation of Investment budgets and acquisition of technical equipment (for Production and / or Industrial Services)
  • Participation in the development of Engineering projects, as part of a multidisciplinary team (preferably including different products and technologies, and both, the mechanical and E&A areas)
  • Participation in the start-up of technical equipment(s) and/or production line(s) (preferably including industrial services supply)
  • Participation in multi-disciplinary teams that focuses in process or packing optimization / continuous improvement
  • Self-management following defined KPIs / objectives, and proactively tracking them
