SHE Specialist

Job Title: SHE Specialist 
Location: Estcourt 
Min Requirments:

  • SHE Degree/Diploma 
  • Experience: Minimum of 3- 5 years of experience in industrial SHE management in manufacturing environment.


Position Summary:
Main Purpose of Job: Assure the safe operation of the site through the implementation of the site’s SHE Management Systems thereby ensuring that the site remains compliant with Nestlé SHE policies, standards, procedures and relevant legislation.


A day in the life a SHE Specialist:

  • Implement, control, maintain and improve the Factory SHE Management systems including achieving and maintaining ISO14001 and OHSAS18001 certification.
  • Support this through developing and implementing specific tools and initiatives as part of the Factory's SHE program as well as exercising functional leadership of the TPM SHE pillar.
    Champion the Plant's SHE risk assessment program, including assessment, incident investigation, corrective action and auditing, as well as  ensuring a focus on Behavioral Based Safety and culture. 
  • Provide SHE advice, guidance and support to the site and monitor compliance with Company Policies and legislative requirements.
  • Assist in ensuring that the different technical safety functions (ammonia, boilers, etc.) are filled by competent specialists and ensure that the mandatory technical inspections have been run according to the legal and corporate specifications.
  • Conduct a comprehensive monthly SHE inspection of the entire premises and submit a written report of this inspection; and ensure continuous control of SHE issues by Organizing SHE self-audits.
  • Identify the SHE training needs for the site, develop a SHE Training Matrix and ensure that the training is completed. Organize continuous SHE education and training programs for management and employees.
  • Collect and report on the monthly and annual SHE statistics and KPIs (Key Performance Indicators).

 

What will make you successful?
•    Relevant SHE Qualification.
•    3 to 5 years practical work experience in industrial SHE management in manufacturing environment.
•    SAMTRAC (Safety and Management Training Course) would be an advantage. 
•    Knowledge of effective approaches, systems & procedures in SHE management. 
•    Knowledge of Nestlé SHE Policies, systems and procedures an advantage. 
•    SAP Knowledge in Materials Handling, ideally a MH Superuser
