Position Summary

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state-of-the-art facility. With sustainability and safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. Our factory does our part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta—an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and together, we contribute to the growth of businesses and population, building the city's strong logistics, entertainment and film, and health services industries.

As a Factory Quality Assurance Technician, you'll assist our microbiological laboratory in the Flagstaff facility with sampling and compositing of finished product to ensure compliance with quality and safety standards. Ensure traceability of samples to provide the necessary documentation to support microbiological testing. Make an impact on the lives of pets and pet owners nationwide as you transport finished product to the bacteria lab for testing and inspect finished product to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards.

Work Schedule:  3:00 am – 11:00 am

• Work cross-functionally with production, packing, maintenance, and safety teams to ensure a continuous flow of quality and efficiency throughout the plant.
• Aseptically collect samples and accurately document them for traceability.

• Ensure proper use and sanitation of lab equipment through verification, cleaning, and calibration.
• Ensure proper sanitation of the lab through completion of routine cleaning tasks.
• Work as a team with other lab associates to achieve shift, department, and factory objectives.
• Support preparation for compliance audits by organizing documentation, conducting pre-audit checks, and ensuring that all quality standards and procedures are met and documented accurately.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED Equivalent
• 2+ years’ experience working in a food quality, lab, manufacturing, production, or related environment.

The approximate pay range for this position is $54,341.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
