Position Summary

 

Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state-of-the-art facility. With safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. Our factory also does its part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta—an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and together, we contribute to the growth of businesses and population, building the city's strong logistics, entertainment and film, and health services industries.   

 

As a Controls Technical Specialist II, you’ll provide advanced electrical and control system support for day-to-day manufacturing operations through software upgrades, electrical and controls troubleshooting, and more. You will play an active role in capital project implementations and support initiatives to drive continuous improvement. Finally, you will identify and develop controls system solutions that comply with all requirements at all levels of project development including hardware and overall electrical design.

 

  • Develop and execute electrical and controls scope on capital projects in coordination with local staff engineers and corporate engineering
  • Support electrical and controls directives to maintenance and operations to maintain production.
  • Identify and execute continuous improvement projects and resolve recurring issues in order to increase overall plant effectiveness.
  • Coordinate and implement control system software upgrades
  • Assist in development of plant long-term electrical and control infrastructure upgrades.
  • Create PLC, HMI, and SCADA solutions for plant operation aligned with all safety and company standards.
  • Assist in maintenance staff training and development

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
  • 5+ years’ applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PLC-based HMI systems.

 

OR

 

  • Associate’s degree in a technical discipline.
  • 3+ years’ applicable experience in PLC software and hardware troubleshooting and/or PLC-based HMI systems. 

 

The approximate pay range for this position is $74,000 to $103,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. Nestlé offers performance-based incentives and a competitive total rewards package, which includes a 401k with company match, healthcare coverage and a broad range of other benefits.
