POSITION SUMMARY

Since the doors opened in 1972, this factory has grown dramatically into a sustainable state-of-the-art facility. In 2013, we completed our largest solar project yet by installing a 450-kilowatt photovoltaic system of nearly 1,900 panels. The amount of energy produced annually by this solar array could power nearly 52 average-sized homes, or approximately 5,000 lights bulbs for an entire year. With sustainability and safety always top of mind, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Fit & Trim®, Friskies®, Nestlé Purina ONE® and Pro Plan®. This plant location is just along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta – an area that nearly 5 million residents and over 340 of our associates can call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast and, if this beautiful city were a country, it would be the 28th largest economy in the world.

As a Line Manager, you will be responsible for providing effective leadership and coordination for assigned production supervisors and operations. You will be responsible for upholding the plant policies and procedures and reporting on and maintaining safety, quality, and production standards. You will ensure the line production plan is fully achieved on time and in compliance with internal and external requirements meeting safety, quality, cost, delivery, and environmental needs, striving towards Manufacturing Excellence. The schedule for this position is on the backshift position.

  • Ensure a safe and healthy work environment for all employees through engagement in order to strive for zero accidents
  • Strive for zero defects through continuous improvement activities in order to reduce quality upsets
  • Lead and motivate team in the achievement of their objectives
  • Maximize production yields, plan for future capacity, and maintain flexibility in the production operations needed due to the variance of raw materials received
  • Manage production through operational reviews and use Standard Routines to ensure sustainable results and use basic problem solving tools and knowledge sharing to drive continuous improvement
  • Assist the Production Manager in the scheduling of the plant, communicating production needs to production supervisors and monitoring overall production performance

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 5+ years of experience in a leadership role in a manufacturing, production, warehouse, military, or related environment.
