Position Summary
Since the doors opened in 1972, our Atlanta factory has grown dramatically into a state-of-the-art facility. With sustainability and safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. Our factory does our part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta—an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and together, we contribute to the growth of businesses and population, building the city's strong logistics, entertainment and film, and health services industries.
As a Maintenance Manager, you will manage, lead, and coordinate activities of your team to maximize performance, minimize costs, maintain quality, and endorse safety & operating standards. You will also be responsible for coaching, training, and developing your team members while maintaining daily maintenance projects, preventative maintenance, and repair work. You will also be leading your team to achieve continuous improvement and/ or Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) initiatives. Leadership through safety is a paramount requirement of this position, and execution of proper leadership techniques to manage difficult situations with the highest regard of the safety and wellbeing of all our employees is critical.
- Lead and oversee all maintenance support to factory operational equipment, as well as general facility maintenance.
- Direct and coordinate the activities of the Maintenance Department to maintain equipment at the highest practical level through continuous improvement of the maintenance systems.
- Manage key performance indicators of the planning and scheduling routine and lead the department to administer the work order management system.
- Oversee maintenance technical store workgroup and storeroom activities to ensure acceptable inventory level and technical spares are managed appropriately.
- Work with team members to develop the most cost-effective repair strategies and manages maintenance spending responsibilities to achieve factory maintenance budget.
- Executes and manages capital projects for new factory equipment with guidance from leadership team.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 5+ years of maintenance experience in a manufacturing, technical, military or related environment required.
- 3+ years of people leadership experience required.
Preferred
- Bachelors, Associates, or advanced technical degree strongly preferred.
- Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
- TPM (Total Performance Management) experience, to include active management of AM and PM Pillar activities, strongly preferred.
- Salaried personnel (supervisors, planners, etc.) people leadership and development experience strongly preferred.
The approximate pay range for this position is $89,000 to $146,000. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
