POSITION SUMMARY
Since the doors opened in 1972, this factory has grown dramatically into a sustainable state-of-the-art facility. In 2013, we completed our largest solar project yet by installing a 450-kilowatt photovoltaic system of nearly 1,900 panels. The amount of energy produced annually by this solar array could power nearly 52 average-sized homes, or approximately 5,000 lights bulbs for an entire year. With sustainability and safety always top of mind, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Fit & Trim®, Friskies®, Nestlé Purina ONE® and Pro Plan®. This plant location is just along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta – an area that nearly 5 million residents and over 340 of our associates can call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast and, if this beautiful city were a country, it would be the 28th largest economy in the world.
As Production Planning Manager, you will champion short-range and long-range plant production planning and inventory management. Utilizing forecasting data in conjunction with economic production quantity and safety stock methodologies, you will proactively collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure that finished product is available for distribution to meet customer demand. You will manage a team of coordinators and specialists to produce efficient and cost-effective schedules that maintain warehouse inventories within acceptable levels. In this critical role, you will align with production and maintenance to schedule downtime to minimize impact on continuous operations and factory output.
- Analyze, monitor and plan production effectively incorporating inventory levels, production quantities, logistics, safety stock, forecasting data and scheduled maintenance

- Participate in weekly maintenance planning meetings and daily operating review meetings to align on the production schedule, planned downtime and customer service considerations
- Manage the coordination of all packing supplies and promotional activities
- Factor in the impact of lead time, transportation and supply chain constraints on key performance measures such as fill rate levels
- Analyze production data and make strategic decisions to optimize factory operations
- Monitor and track post-consumer recycled material for timeliness, accuracy and compliance
- Coach and develop the factory operations team
Requirements

- 5+ years of leadership experience within supply chain planning, logistics planning or production planning in a manufacturing, warehouse, military or related environment
