POSITION SUMMARY
Since the doors opened in 1972, this factory has grown dramatically into a sustainable state-of-the-art facility. With sustainability and safety at the forefront of our minds, our Atlanta factory proudly and passionately produces 460,000 tons a year of our dry pet food brands, including Alpo®, Beneful®, Cat Chow®, Dog Chow®, Friskies®, Purina ONE®, and Pro Plan®. Our factory does our part for the environment by conserving water, investing in renewable electricity, maintaining zero waste for disposal and more. This plant location is situated along the southern crescent of Metro Atlanta—an area that nearly 6 million residents and many of our associates call home. Atlanta is considered the major commercial and financial center of the Southeast, and together, we contribute to the growth of businesses and population, building the city's strong logistics, entertainment and film, and health services industries.
As a Production Operator, you’ll work hands-on with a collaborative team at the center of our factory processes. You’ll train in several functional areas within the manufacturing environment so you can provide support across our production teams. With safety top of mind, you’ll ensure that our equipment and machinery remain in top-notch condition as you use your quick problem-solving skills to address equipment needs throughout the operation day. **This position will be for Weekend Relief Shift. The schedule will be an overnight shift; Saturday-Monday 3:00 PM-3:00 AM.**
- Must always work safely by following safety policies and procedures including attending safety team and plant-wide meetings, participating in safety and functional training, and performing regular observations.
- Operate production equipment across various areas of the factory.
- Sample ingredients and/or in process product.
- Communicate with other operators, truckers, team leaders, and quality assurance and food safety personnel.
- Maintain proper sanitation levels.
- Operate a forklift.
- Other job duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment as a production or machine operator.
The hourly pay for this position is $33.54. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including, but not limited to knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location.
