Resting at 7,000 feet and surrounded by the San Francisco Peaks, the scenic city of Flagstaff remains an important distribution site for large manufacturers like Nestlé Purina. Just a stone's throw from downtown, where the city's culture comes to life, we get to experience the best of both worlds: the city and the mountains. Annually, the Nestlé Purina team in Flagstaff proudly mass manufactures 280,000 tons of dry pet food from our Dog Chow®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Alpo®, and Pro Plan® brands. Our factory is also proud to do our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.

As a Sanitation Helper, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and safety of our production environment. Your primary focus will be on performing sanitation duties and ensuring that our equipment and machinery are kept in optimal condition. With safety as your top priority, you will utilize your problem-solving skills to address any equipment needs throughout the operational day. This position offers competitive bi-weekly pay starting at $23.68/hr, quarterly bonuses, eligibility for overtime pay, and comprehensive health benefits, including a 401k match.   • Conduct proper pre-cleaning inspections on all equipment/areas (floors, walls, overheads, machinery, etc.).
  • Complete required equipment inspections and reporting as prescribed by the facility’s sanitation preventive controls and HACCP program.
  • Perform pre-cleaning tasks daily, ensuring that all personal protective equipment (PPE) is available, in working condition, and utilized for the required cleaning tasks.
  • Ensure that sanitation chemicals, supplies, and equipment are properly prepared and readily accessible for operational use.
  • Take responsibility for the thorough cleaning and sanitization of tools utilized in production areas.
  • Monitor compliance with 5S standards and coordinate the replacement of tools as necessary.
  • Identify and escalate any risks related to the Preventive Maintenance Program (PMP) to the Product Safety Team Lead.
  • Occasionally work at heights within the plant to fulfill job responsibilities.

 

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.

 

The approximate hourly pay for this position is $23.68. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to background, knowledge, skills, and abilities as well as geographic location of the position.
