Position Summary
Resting at 7,000 feet and surrounded by the San Francisco Peaks, the scenic city of Flagstaff remains an important distribution site for large manufacturers like Nestlé Purina. Just a stone's throw from downtown, where the city's culture comes to life, we get to experience the best of both worlds: the city and the mountains. Annually, the Nestlé Purina team in Flagstaff proudly mass manufactures 280,000 tons of dry pet food from our Dog Chow®, Beneful®, Nestlé Purina ONE®, Alpo®, and Pro Plan® brands. Our factory is also proud to do our part to care for the environment, like conserving water, investing in renewable electricity and maintaining zero waste for disposal.
As a Senior Factory QA (Product Safety) technician, you’ll maintain and sanitize the plant and exterior grounds. Assist the Food Safety Team leader with fogging, fumigation, heat treatment, insect/rodent control, and other sanitation issues to help ensure the highest level of quality throughout our processes.
- Engage in a safe and healthy work environment in compliance with the plant policies, local laws, and OSHA / MSHA standards.
- Ensure completion of behavioral-based safety observations and communication, to promote an open environment for safety continuous improvement.
- Engage in Nestle Continuous Excellence (NCE) activities to drive team results.
- Assist Product Safety Team Leader with Integrated Pest Management (IPM). Perform pest control device monitoring inspections.
- Perform inspections and fumigations on customer returns. Release ingredients from fumigation from April 1st – November 30th (fumigation season).
- Perform treatments on potential infestation areas in plant, including both surface spraying and crack/crevice treatment and commodity fumigations in accordance with company and state policy.
- Assist Product Safety Team Leader with food safety inspections and Release of Maintained Equipment (ROME) inspections.
- Perform pest exclusion activities.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- 1+ years of working in pet food, food safety, pest control, or industrial sanitation in a manufacturing, industrial or related environment
Other:
- Work Schedule: Monday – Friday – 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm
- Must be willing and capable of becoming a certified pesticide applicator within 90 days of employment
The approximate pay range for this position is $51,000.00 to $72,000.00. Please note that the pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location.
