Position Summary
Fort Dodge, located just 90 minutes north of Des Moines, Iowa, is recognized as a regional hub for retail and recreation. The city is known for its vibrant community spirit, and we are proud to say that our Fort Dodge Nestlé Purina team shares the same sense of pride and connection. Our dedicated team in Fort Dodge works tirelessly to produce over 130,000 cases of beloved pet food brands daily, including Friskies® and Mighty Dog®. As Lead Materials Planner you’ll serve as the lead supporting materials planning and inventory management activities to ensure uninterrupted production and achievement of service level objectives. Oversee packaging and ingredient supply strategies to support current operations and future business growth. Identify and mitigate material supply risks through proactive planning, supplier engagement, and inventory management. Drive continuous improvement initiatives that improve material availability, inventory accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Lead materials management activities to ensure raw materials and ingredients are available to support production requirements.
- Manage inventory levels while balancing service, cost, and working capital objectives.
- Partner with internal procurement teams and suppliers to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Monitor supplier performance and develop strong supplier relationships to support business objectives.
- Manage inventory accuracy at plant and outside storage, research any variances, and work with accounting to perform adjustments if necessary. Review inventory level standards, trend costs, manage month end activities.
- Partner with operations and planning teams to support production schedules and material requirements.
- Develop, coach, and lead team members while fostering a culture of accountability and collaboration.
- Utilize ERP and inventory management systems to support planning, purchasing, and reporting activities.
- Back up Sr Coordinator planning roles and help with weekend coverage and on call duties.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED
- 3+ years of materials management, supply chain, inventory control, production planning, procurement, logistics, or warehouse operations experience within a manufacturing, distribution, military, or related environment.
- 2+ years of leadership experience.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution

Salary: $102,276.00 to $133,704.00 per year
Bonus Eligibility: Yes
The pay range provided is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Final compensation may vary based on factors including but not limited to knowledge, skills and abilities as well as geographic location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at top of range.
