Position Summary
Primary duties are to schedule and perform installation, calibration, maintenance, and repair on all instrumentation equipment for the facility.
In alignment with Act 593(B) this position is considered safety sensitive as this employee performs installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of all measuring instruments and devices.
Responsibilities
- Must actively participate in pre-shift meeting, receive PM’s and work orders and get tools ready for the shift.
- Will perform installation, calibration, maintenance and repair of all measuring instruments and devices including but not limited to RTD’s, Pressure sensors and transmitters, Recorders, Vacuum Gauges, MIG’s, Utility and Refrigeration measuring instruments, QA Lab Equipment, as well as other instruments and devices as required by Nestle and Gerber SOP’s, instructions, programs and rules. Requires ability to work independently toward general results. Must originate, plan, adapt, invent and contrive to accomplish tasks. Work requires close attention to detail and work pace is generally well above normal with frequent problems keeping up with the work pace. Work also requires considerable average to great physical exertion or effort.
- Will be required to maintain all calibration records, providing for the highest accuracy of the records and devices to provide for food and environmental safety and quality. Will work closely with Production Scheduler and Maintenance Planners in scheduling of in-house calibrations and required outside vendor calibrations in accordance with all Federal and state laws and regulations. Must maintain 100% accuracy of records and on time completion of calibrations.
- Must complete all paperwork/checks as necessary including entering data in the calibration manager program, creating work orders, creating breakdown work orders, checking tasks, entering time and completing work orders in SAP.
- Employee must maintain housekeeping in his/her area, sweeping area, cleaning tools and shop equipment as needed.
- Must communicate and properly hand off “breakdown” work to on-coming shift, enter time in SAP and put tools away.
- Will be required to assist Instrumentation Technicians as required and other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Requirements
Education

In addition to high school graduation, needs specialized training such as apprenticeship in trade or technical courses.

State electrical license preferred.

Requires 3 years experience in Industrial Electricity as well as 3 years combined experience with instrumentation and programmable controllers, and 2 years of electrical/electronics training or apprenticeship (preferred).
